Pope sets canonizations of Blessed Acutis, Frassati, Bishop announces diocesan Mass

IN RESPONSE TO THE CANONIZATION NEWS, Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., announced that the Diocese of Trenton will celebrate a Mass Sunday, September 7 at 10:30 am at St. Dominic Church in Brick, home of the Diocesan Shrine of Carlo Acutis.

Bishop O’Connell stated, “I was delighted to learn that our Holy Father Pope Leo XIV has announced September 7 as the date for the canonizations of Blessed Carlo Acutis and Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati. Both have a special meaning for the Diocese of Trenton. I established Blessed Carlo as diocesan patron of Catholic youth and school and Religious Ed children in 2022 and Blessed Pier Giorgio as a patron for vocations. As we celebrate this wonderful event, let's all continue to pray for their intercession.”
