Cash gifts are the most common way to support the Annual Catholic Appeal and may be made in several convenient ways.
You may give by:
When giving by check or money order, please include your parish name and any specific intentions with your gift to ensure proper credit.
Every gift—regardless of how it is given—supports the ministries and programs that serve our parishes, families, and communities throughout the Diocese.
If you are 70½ or older, you may be able to make a tax-advantaged gift to the Annual Catholic Appeal directly from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD).
An IRA charitable gift:
Gifts of up to $100,000 per year may be transferred directly from your IRA to a qualified charity. To qualify, the distribution must be made directly from your IRA custodian to the Diocese, not to you personally.
When requesting a QCD:
IRA charitable gifts are a powerful way to meet your RMD requirement while supporting the Church’s mission.
A gift to the Annual Catholic Appeal may be made through your Donor-Advised Fund (DAF), allowing you to recommend a grant to support the ministries of the Diocese while fulfilling your charitable intentions.
To make a gift through your Donor-Advised Fund:
DAF gifts are a meaningful way to support the Church using funds you have already set aside for charitable giving. Please note that DAF grants cannot be used to fulfill personal pledges or receive goods or services, in accordance with IRS regulations.
If you have questions about making a gift through a Donor-Advised Fund, we are happy to assist you.
A gift of appreciated stock or other marketable securities is a meaningful way to support the Annual Catholic Appeal and may offer valuable tax benefits. The Diocese of Trenton has made arrangements with U.S. Bank N.A. to assist donors who wish to contribute securities.
