  • New Message 2

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

“This is the hour for love” Pope Leo XIV’s words remind us that love and the joy that flows from it are not for later. Love is for now. Through your support of the Annual Catholic Appeal, a Love that Strengthens, and a Joy that Sustains takes root in parishes across our Diocese the very moment you give.

    • Your gift supports individuals and families through parish ministries that walk with them in their journey of faith

    • Your gift provides care, dignity, and support to the poor, the elderly, the sick, and our retired priests.

    • Your gift helps form future priests, deacons, and leaders who will carry Christ’s joy into our communities.

Every gift serves a meaningful role in bringing this mission to life.

Thank you for coming together with faith, courage, and generous hearts.

    Now is the moment!

    Yours in Christ,

  •
  • Cash gifts are the most common way to support the Annual Catholic Appeal and may be made in several convenient ways.

    You may give by:

    • Check or money order, made payable to the Diocese of Trenton – Annual Catholic Appeal mailed to P.O. Box 70170, Newark, NJ 07101
    • Online at www.giveaca.org, using a secure giving form with a credit or debit card, ACH EFT, Apple Pay, PayPal, or Venmo

When giving by check or money order, please include your parish name and any specific intentions with your gift to ensure proper credit.

Every gift—regardless of how it is given—supports the ministries and programs that serve our parishes, families, and communities throughout the Diocese.

If you are 70½ or older, you may be able to make a tax-advantaged gift to the Annual Catholic Appeal directly from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD).

    An IRA charitable gift:

    • May be counted toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) if you are age 73 or older
    • Is excluded from your taxable income, even if you do not itemize deductions
    • Allows you to support the ministries of the Diocese in a meaningful and impactful way

Gifts of up to $100,000 per year may be transferred directly from your IRA to a qualified charity. To qualify, the distribution must be made directly from your IRA custodian to the Diocese, not to you personally.

    When requesting a QCD:

    • Instruct your IRA administrator to issue the check payable to the Diocese of Trenton – Annual Catholic Appeal (EIN 21-0634970)
    • Include your name and parish information with the gift so it can be properly credited
    • Allow time for processing, especially near year-end

IRA charitable gifts are a powerful way to meet your RMD requirement while supporting the Church’s mission.

A gift to the Annual Catholic Appeal may be made through your Donor-Advised Fund (DAF), allowing you to recommend a grant to support the ministries of the Diocese while fulfilling your charitable intentions.

To make a gift through your Donor-Advised Fund:

    • Contact your DAF administrator and recommend a grant to the Diocese of Trenton – Annual Catholic Appeal
    • Indicate your parish, if applicable, so your gift may be properly credited
    • Include your name and contact information so we may acknowledge your generosity

DAF gifts are a meaningful way to support the Church using funds you have already set aside for charitable giving. Please note that DAF grants cannot be used to fulfill personal pledges or receive goods or services, in accordance with IRS regulations.

If you have questions about making a gift through a Donor-Advised Fund, we are happy to assist you.

A gift of appreciated stock or other marketable securities is a meaningful way to support the Annual Catholic Appeal and may offer valuable tax benefits. The Diocese of Trenton has made arrangements with U.S. Bank N.A. to assist donors who wish to contribute securities.

Securities Held in Street Name - If your securities are held by your broker in street name, please instruct your broker to transfer the shares as follows:

    Depository Trust Company (DTC): #2803
    U.S. Bank Account #: 001050997776
Account Name: Diocese of Trenton Gift Account

If your broker has questions, they may contact Christine Prete directly. (Contact info below)

    After the Transfer

Once the securities have been transferred, please notify us so your gift may be properly credited and acknowledged. You may do this by phone, mail, or email.

    Please include your following information:

    • Name
    • Phone Number
    • Parish
    • Indicate the gift is for the Annual Catholic Appeal

    Email: [email protected]
    Phone: (609) 403-7218
    Mail:
    Department of Development
    Attn: Christine Prete
    701 Lawrenceville Road
    Trenton, NJ 08648

Providing this information ensures you receive an acknowledgment letter reflecting the market value of your gift for tax purposes.

Cryptocurrency gifts are an emerging way to support the Annual Catholic Appeal and may offer unique tax advantages when making a charitable contribution.

If you are interested in making a gift of cryptocurrency, please contact the Department of Development for assistance with the transfer process and required information.

    Phone: 609-403-7197
    Email: [email protected]

Our team will be happy to guide you through the steps and ensure your gift is properly credited and acknowledged.

A planned gift is a meaningful way to support the Annual Catholic Appeal while also caring for your loved ones and reflecting your long-term charitable intentions.

    Planned gifts may include:

    • Bequests in a will or trust
    • Beneficiary designations on retirement accounts or life insurance
    • Other arrangements that help sustain the mission of the Church for future generations

If you are interested in learning more about making a planned gift, we encourage you to speak with our planned giving team. Conversations are confidential and focused on providing information—not obligation.
