Father Stephen Sansevere, who served as a deacon of the Diocese since 2000, was ordained a priest of the Diocese of Trenton by Bishop David M. O"Connell, C.M., at a 10 a.m. Mass of Ordination June 27 at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, Freehold. Exercising his long-time ministry in the community of St. Gabriel Parish in Marlboro, Father Sansevere began his priestly formation after the death of his wife in 2017.

He has spent the past year serving in St. Theresa Parish, Little Egg Harbor.
Fr. Sansevere has been assigned as parochial vicar of St. James Parish, Pennington; St. George Parish, Titusville, and St. Alphonsus Parish, Hopewell.

Bishop David M. O'Connell, C.M., ordained six men to the diaconate on June 20 at St. Robert Bellarmine Co-Cathedral in Freehold.
Among the six men ordained deacons was Rjoy Ballacillo, a seminarian in formation to serve as a priest in the Diocese of Trenton. Deacon Ballacillo is now referred to as a transitional deacon. Ballacillo is expected to be ordained a priest next spring.

The other five candidates, John Edward Barrett, St. Martha Parish, Point Pleasant; Russell David Greiner, St. Joseph Parish, Toms River; Mark D. McNulty, St. Catharine-St. Margaret Parish, Spring Lake; John Senkewicz, St. Leo the Great Parish, Lincroft, and Edward Woram, St. Joseph Parish, Toms River, were ordained as permanent deacons. They come from a variety of backgrounds and professional careers and are married with families. They have completed a five-year program of formation, and have been assigned to parish ministry, for which they may preach and preside over weddings Baptisms, wakes and committals.
